Down in southern Germany, you can hear the sound of business and conviviality revving up: DRIVERS & BUSINESS CLUB MUNICH is a door-opener to all cool things on wheels, a lively business network and a one-stop shop for collectors.

For anyone whose veins run with petrol and whose heart beats faster at the sound of the growl of a powerful engine, one of the prime spots in Germany to meet others with a shared passion for cars and motorsports is the Drivers & Business Club Munich.

Initiated in 2016 by a group of like-minded petrolheads with a shared vision of a bespoke club where everything revolved around classic cars, supercars and motorsports, the invitation-only private members’ club has gradually evolved to become a sought-after meeting place to share motoring joy and it offers a forum on everything relating to the ownership of a classic vehicle. It has gone from
being a relatively informal circle to a proper club with a club house, located in a stunning listed building from 1925 which is a superb example of industrial Bauhaus architecture. The building is located on an industrial site formerly – and very fittingly – used for mobility in the shape of railway maintenance.

For over 70 years, locomotives, trains and trams from across Germany and its European neighbours were repaired in these halls. Building number 79 housed the offices and control room. After extensive restoration, Building 79 became the new home of the Drivers & Business Club in Munich in 2019. The club boasts 3,900sqm of indoor space surrounded by 25,000sqm of green space. A private access road leads to the club’s entrance and free parking for members. The clubhouse is only a 20-minute drive from Munich Airport and 12 minutes to the city centre. As an added perk, Motorworld Munich with its extensive motoring infrastructure is located right next door, offering unparalleled
access to an invaluable network of support and expertise, from interior designers to car radio restorers, classic car rental companies or race coaches.

There’s a very good reason why the club is located here in southern Germany: Munich is home to many influencers from the car industry as well as luxury manufacturers, and the region ranks number one alongside California in terms of classic and supercar ownership. But the club isn’t limited to two or four wheels: core topics extend into related businesses and aspects of a luxury lifestyle.

A sleek home for automobile passion
The generously proportioned club house offers plenty of space for dining, working and socialising. On the ground floor – which is called the Social Level – there is a restaurant with indoor and outdoor areas, the Havana Lounge with a walk-in humidor, and an exclusively stocked library. The club can cater to private parties of any size with a private cooking service, bespoke dining rooms and two event wings. Upstairs, the Business Level has several meeting rooms and offices for long andshort-term use. The Entertainment Level on the lower
ground floor features a wine cellar with a vinotheque, a private movie theatre and a games room with billiards, foosball and darts. The beautiful outdoor spaces are a special highlight, with a terrace and two atriums on the ground floor, two rooftop terraces and a boardroom with a spacious balcony – all set in the extensive grounds. Overnight accommodation is available at the 4-star AMERON Hotel close by, which also has a large spa.

A haven for collectors of classic cars
As many of the members are passionate collectors, the club aims to support them throughout the entire car ownership cycle. The club’s experts broker experts on scouting, purchase, maintenance, restoration, repair, insurance, automotive care, sales, spare parts, documentation and sales, as well as providing exclusive access to motorsports events, auctions, classic car events, rallies and private collections. The library is stocked with an unparalleled collection of car, design, motorcycle and motorsports literature, and the works of famous motorsports and automobile photographers hang on the walls.

Naturally, there is an ample choice of culinary highlights and wines. The restaurant and catering concept come courtesy of the internationally esteemed chef and Zuma founder, Rainer Becker. There is also direct access to a renowned network of international chefs, winemakers, gourmets and food experts who offer private tastings and cooking events. Tailor made catering for members to enjoy offsite or on the go is also available.

Events are writ large at the club, and focus on cars and motorsports, with excursions, culinary treats, business talks and family events ensuring there’s something for everyone. The club also organises workshops, meetings and conventions of all sizes, ranging from five to 500 people. Secretarial services are available in a variety of packages to assist with guests’ and members’ office management requirements. An in-house club concierge service attends to a wide range of member requests, offering great suggestions for sports, cultural events, food and drink, nightlife and shopping.

Currently, the club has more than 360 members, including many automotive luminaries – so you’re more than likely to run into somebody with a shared love of everything motorised.
